What is Tag?

Tag is a prevention, tracking and stolen vehicle recovery system

How does the Tag system work?

Level 1: Theft Prevention

The Tag logo is etched on the front driver and passenger side windows of your vehicle to inform a protentional thief that the vehicle is protected by Tag. This is a preventative measure which reduces the risk of theft significantly.

 

Level 2: Electronic Identification

The Tag system is equipped with RFID technology; another preventative measure against theft. Tiny RFID devices, called Nano-Tags are installed on vehicle parts often sought after by thieves.

• Nano-Tags each have their own unique serial number. Should a vehicle be stolen, these devices will identify the vehicle components as stolen, making them harder to buy and sell.

 

Level 3: Tracking

A varied number of wireless tracking decides are installed throughout a vehicle.

Tag Tracking's technology is the only one of it's kind on the market. Radio frequency, not unlike your car radio, won't impact your vehicle or interfere with pacemakers or other decides present within the vehicle.

 

Tag System Transferable

The Tag system is transferable, one time, to the new owner of the vehicle if the system is less than 3 years old (dating from the time of installation). Transfer of ownership can be done at the dealership or online through Tag's website (www.tagtracking.ca). There is a one-time fee of $50.00.

*The Tag system is not transferable from one vehicle to another.

The Tag system is wireless and independent from the vehicle

• Tracking systems with wires limit the places where the decide can be hidden, making it easier for thieves to find, remove and deactivate it. It also makes it easier for thieves to detect and jam the signal such as with GPS technology for instance
• The Tag system is completely wireless and therefore does not interfere with the vehicle's electrical system. It is completely autonomous and independent from the vehicle.
• As it is completely independent from the vehicle, it cannot affect the vehicle's warranty
• The Tag system's batteries are guaranteed for 7 years

 

What to do if your vehicle gets stolen

• Contact Tag Tracking's Security Central at 1-888-448-8241
• The in-house tracking team will be deployed within minutes of your call
• Contact the police to report the theft. They will provide an event number. This number is necessary to complete the tracking and recover process.
• Once your vehicle is found, the police will be in contact with you with information on how you can recuperate your vehicle
• Most vehicles are recovered within an hour of the call to report the theft. However, recovery time depends greatly on the circumstances of theft.

Tag cannot be installed on small recreational vehicles such as motorcycles, personal watercrafts, snowmobiles, ATV's, 4-Wheelers side-by-sides, seated lawnmowers or similar.
